Helping dogs overcome
car anxiety
Whether your dog pants, drools, shakes,
or refuses to go in - you're in the right place.
I help dogs feel safe in the car
without force or flooding.
Your dog pants, drools, shakes,
or refuses to go in?
You found the right place.
I help dogs feel safe in the car
without force or flooding.
I know what it's like to plan your life around your dog's
fear of the car. That used to be us, too.
Does this sound familiar?
✔ Your dog starts stressing before you've even left the house
✔ They refuse to get into the car
✔ They drool, pant, shake or pace during the drive
✔ Every trip feels exhausting for both of you
You've tried treats, toys, different harnesses or driving more but nothing changed.
If you're nodding along... you're not alone.
This was Bueno, too.
Left: running away from the car.
Right: resting peacefully in the car just a few weeks later.
The problem usually
isn't the car...
Most owners are told they simply need "to drive more" to get the dog "used to it".
But for many anxious dogs, the driving isn't where the problem starts.
Car anxiety is often about what the car has come to predict.
Stress.
Uncertainty.
Lack of control.
Nausea.
That's why I don't just focus on the drive itself.
I help dogs feel safer before the journey even begins.
My approach

Understand
Every dog is different.
We first understand what's driving their behaviour.

Instead of pushing through fear, we reduce the stress that's
keeping your dog stuck.

Build confidence
Confidence grows through
small moments of safety,
success and choice.
Meet Millie

Two years ago, Millie stopped getting into the car.
Every journey meant stress.
Planning with trains.
Avoiding places.
I started wondering:
"Is this just our life now?"
Then everything changed when I stopped asking:
"How do I get her to like the car?"
and started asking:
"How do I help her feel safe before the drive even begins?"
That one shift changed everything.
Today, it's the foundation of how I help
other dogs too.
How I can help
Every dog is different.
Together we'll create a plan that fits your dog's history, emotions and pace.
We'll reduce stress, build confidence and help your dog feel safe around
and eventually in the car again.
Coaching may be a good fit if your dog:
✔ Panics before the drive
✔ Drools, pants or vomits
✔ Barks, paces or shuts down during drives
✔ Has become increasingly anxious over time
You're not the only one...

FAQ
In most cases, yes. Every dog and every situation is different, so we'll create a plan that works with your everyday life. If you rely on the car, we'll adjust the training accordingly rather than expecting life to stop while you work through the program.
Every dog is unique, so there isn't an honest one-size-fits-all answer.
Some owners notice positive changes within the first couple of weeks, while dogs with a longer history of car anxiety often need more time. Our focus isn't on quick fixes—it's on creating lasting confidence and helping your dog genuinely feel safer around & inside the car.
Absolutely. Many of the dogs I work with have struggled with car anxiety for months or even years. While longer-standing fears often require more patience, dogs are capable of learning throughout their lives. We'll meet your dog where they are and work at a pace they can succeed with.
Yes. Early support can often prevent a small concern from becoming a much bigger problem later on. Building positive experiences from the beginning gives your puppy the best chance of becoming a calm and confident traveller.
The program combines personalised coaching, clear step-by-step training, regular video feedback and ongoing support.
You'll always know what to focus on next, and we'll adjust the training plan as your dog progresses. No guessing, no overwhelming information—just a structured plan tailored to your dog.
Yes, everything is done online through video feedback, coaching calls and messaging, allowing you to train in your own environment and at your dog's pace—no matter where you live.
Consistency is far more important than long training sessions.
Most exercises only take a few minutes a day and are designed to fit naturally into everyday life. I'll guide you on exactly how often to train based on your dog's progress and your daily routine.
Not much. Most owners already have everything they need. During our first sessions we'll discuss your current car setup, safety equipment and any small adjustments that may help your dog feel more comfortable.
Setbacks are completely normal.
Progress is rarely a straight line, especially when emotions are involved. A difficult day doesn't mean you've failed or that the training isn't working. Together we'll identify what happened, adjust the plan if needed and keep moving forward.
Every owner starts with a free assessment call.
We'll discuss your dog's history, current challenges and your goals to see whether we're the right fit. If I don't believe the program is the best option for your situation, I'll always tell you honestly.
Unlike general dog training, I focus exclusively on dog car anxiety.
That means every part of the program is designed around helping dogs feel genuinely safe in the car. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, everything is adapted to your dog's individual needs, emotions and pace.
Every dog is different, so it wouldn't be honest to promise a specific outcome.
What I can promise is a personalised, science-based approach that focuses on your dog's emotional wellbeing, not forcing behaviour. Together we'll work towards helping your dog feel calmer, safer and more confident in and around the car.
